Dr. Lopez is a phenomenal clinician ( and as a nurse practitioner I know this to be true) but even better than clinical brilliance she is warm, compassionate, patient, lovely. Even when my son had serious issues she provided excellent care while singing to him the entire visit. We have seen her for 22 years for three kids and she is the only pediatric dentist I would ever see.

I've been taking my three sons to Dr. Lopez for many years now. Although we live far from Berkeley now, we drive over 45 minutes to see her because that's how much we value her! I totally trust Dr. Lopez when it comes to my kids' dental care because she is very discerning and doesn't try to rush you into any procedures that aren't necessary. She and her wonderful staff have always been so kind and patient with my sons. I did not like the dentist growing up and always felt nervous about getting cavities filled, but my boys have never had that experience. It's because Dr. Lopez is so gentle and explains what she's doing every step of the way. Even now, with my teenagers, she still takes the time at the end of every checkup, to list her recommended healthy snacks and which foods to be more careful of. We all need these constant reminders so I appreciate that she always takes the extra few minutes to reinforce healthy habits. It's because she really truly cares about her patients. Her entire staff is great too, always friendly and helpful. They make a wonderful team. I've even sent friends to Dr. Lopez when they've been nervous about what another pediatric dentist has recommended for their child. There was a serious sigh of relief from my friend after going to Dr. Lopez instead! Like I mentioned, you can TRUST her, she's the best!

When it comes to the twins' dental care, I couldn't have chosen a more compassionate and understanding team than Dr. ViVan Lopez's staff. Their first visit was at just two years old, and now they are nine. Living in the valley, which is about an hour and forty-five minutes away, I would gladly make the drive because the staff genuinely cares about my children. Despite my efforts to find a closer dentist, the twins insist on returning to Dr. Lopez and Ms. Fisher, as they adore everyone there. One Sunday afternoon, my son had a frightening accident when he ran into the bed, pushing his front tooth up into his gums. It was a traumatic experience for us, and in a panic, I called Dr. Lopez's emergency number. They promptly returned my call and told me to bring him in immediately. I wholeheartedly recommend this loving, compassionate, and patient practice for any child in need of dental care.

Both of my ‘kids’ (now 17 and 20) have been seeing Dr. Lopez since they were very young and I can’t say enough wonderful things about her, both professionally and personally. We dealt with various sensory and anxiety issues that other dentists didn’t take seriously, but everyone at this office has shown so much compassion and care that all of us always felt comfortable, safe, and listened to. I hate to think of where we would be now if we hadn’t found the wonderful and compassionate Dr. Lopez! I highly recommend her for all families, but especially for sensitive kids who have had bad experiences elsewhere.

We have been patients of Dr Lopez for fifteen years, as both our children, now teens, started seeing her as toddlers. Dr Lopez is an extraordinary pediatric dentist—she has a great rapport with the children AND with the grownups. She is positive and wholesome. After two difficult experiences with my son at other dentists, we were thrilled to find Dr Lopez. She was able to make even getting a filling a positive experience for him. She is a true treasure and we highly recommend her for anyone looking for a positive, trustworthy pediatric dentist!
