Overall the practice is great for pediatric patients. They do take great care and are professional. This office is professional, ethical, and communicative, and we had a positive experience overall. However, I would strongly encourage families with borderline extraction cases to get multiple orthodontic opinions before deciding on treatment. In our case, we chose a non-extraction approach after being warned that flaring could occur. Unfortunately, the flaring became much more significant than we anticipated by the end of treatment. While the doctor did discuss this risk upfront and stands by the work and his treatment plan with extraction palate expansion was not an option in his professional opinion. We personally wish there had been more discussion during treatment as the severity became clearer. The orthodontist has offered retreatment at no additional cost using the approach he believes is clinically appropriate: extractions and traditional braces. We appreciate that offer and his professionalism. However, it is important for families to understand that this provider does not use certain alternative treatment approaches, including extraction cases with Invisalign or IPR. For more complex crowding cases, I would recommend getting second and third opinions so you fully understand the potential tradeoffs of extraction vs. non-extraction treatment before beginning braces especially if other space creating techniques are not available such as palate expansion. It’s not a criticism it just reflects the treatment approach and philosophy combined with lessons learned from gathering more information with complex cases.
