I thought the experience itself was normal. I will always complain about appointment times. My sons appt was at 8:15a. I get there before 8a and check in and were the only ones in the lobby waiting until about 8:10a. 3 different other appointments came after us and they were all called before us. We also had to then wait about 30 or so minutes from tech to dentist as the dentist saw everyone before us. The dentist herself was very kind upon arrival she was very informative and understanding. When dealing with my incredibly not happy 20 month old, she was engaging and observant of what HE was doing to distract him. This place also offers kids tokens for fun prizes, and a slushy machine also likely as a reward. All in all, I made more appointments and will be transferring my older son here since they also work with special needs kids! My older son is severely Autistic and needs sedation cleanings which some of their providers do! Not this specific location but the providers.

Great staff, never had any issues been taking my son for a while. Walk in they know who we are check us in and ready to go!

I took my daughter for a chipped tooth. They billed her for a new patient visit instead of a chipped tooth evaluation, which might be appropriate. But then they scheduled us for a regular checkup and they knew that wouldn't be covered by insurance. So our insurance denied it and the dental office sent us a bill, with a 10% penalty for being 90 days late. They never reached out to us before the 90 days. The billing person would call us back during work hours and call 5-10 times in a row in just a few minutes and she never left a voicemail or a direct line. Both ladies I spoke to acted like it was an absolute burden to speak to me, and treated me like I might be the dumbest person in the world. The final straw was when the second lady called me and accused me of of trying to commit insurance fraud. She interrupted me over and over again. After almost 10 minutes of her abuse I lost my temper. I told her I will pay the bill, but we aren't going back and they are not allowed to contact us again. She was yelling something at me and I hung up on her.

Dr. Lopez is the best! She is so kind and gentle with the children and skilled at explaining things clearly to the parents. Any hygienist we have had has also been very kind and great at explaining to the children, and the parents, what they are doing and making it as quick and fun as possible.

We have been going here for 8 years. And we will not be going back to the North KC office. We have had 2 bad experiences and this last one will be the last. Dr Lopez is not sensitive to children with dental anxiety. She yells and tells my child to stop. I understand they have a job to do and safety is a priority. But don't yell at a child when they are upset and scared. She is not calming or comforting whatsoever. We will never go back. if you have children with dental anxiety or neurodivergent.. not the place for them!
