I've written a review for BHPD before, but I wanted to take a moment to share my most recent experience with Dr. Jesse Wright as he he truly deserves the recognition. My daughter has a fairly complex dental situation involving her jaw and prior orthodontic work. On top of that, she's at the age where every teen feels hyper-aware of their appearance, and braces—or missing teeth—can be a major source of embarrassment. I reached out to Dr. Wright, explaining how self-conscious she was feeling. Without hesitation, he brought her back in and immediately got to work on a creative, thoughtful solution. But what really stood out to me wasn’t just his clinical skill but how he treated my daughter. He took the time to talk directly to her, encouraging her to advocate for herself and making it clear that her confidence and comfort mattered just as much as the technical outcome. She walked out of his office not only looking better, but feeling better, empowered and seen. Dr. Wright is exceptionally intelligent, incredibly compassionate, and has a rare ability to connect with young patients in a way that builds both trust and understanding. As a parent, I can’t tell you how much I value the way he explains things, not just to me, but with my daughter ensuring she’s part of the conversation about her own care. We’re so grateful to have him in our corner. He’s truly the best.

We’ve been coming to BHPD for the past two years, and we’ve been thrilled with their work. Our four year old is really comfortable with all of the doctors and staff—she literally says “I love the dentist”—who are kind, patient, and always speak to kids in an age-appropriate way. They are thorough in explaining our options for care and discussing potential downside and upsides with any kinds of treatment we pursue. Highly recommend, especially for kids who may be skittish about dental care!

We started working with Dr Lau and her staff about 10 months ago to start on airway health with our younger daughter. Since 5 she’s had frequent and painful ear infections, not the best sleep because of breathing (snoring) as well a frequent sore throats. Around the 5th month of her expansion process she’s had zero ear infections and her teeth started to show spacing. We had the expander replaced with retainers followed with releasing her tongue ties. Several words she’s had trouble anunciating is now better plus we’ve had zero sore throats and still to date no ear infections. Overall we are very happy with the process and the careful guidance of Dr Lau. We in fact decided to put off braces for our older one because we are seeing severel places where she can also benefit from expanding her palate. Both girls have not found the appliances to be painful and adapted pretty well whereas having had braves I myself recall it was painful and unpleasant. We really do believe that Dr Lau and team is taking an approach that maximizes comfort while improving our children’s overall health but in the process they get bigger and straighter smiles!

This practice was recommended to us by a family member and we’ve been big fans for almost 10 years now. While my daughter never looks forward to the appointments, the dentists and hygienists put her at ease and it’s as pleasant an experience going to the dentist can be. The front desk staff are professional and friendly and manage the insurance claims and appointments efficiently. My daughter says, that you should definitely go to this dentist. (High praise.)
